I have a guy that wants to sell me a model 30a glenfield in vg condition except the lever doesnt want to stay locked .Would this be a big problem????Thanks

Rarely is this a big problem. It almost always stems from a minor problem with the small lever latch or the spring that powers it, and is easily fixed by replacement, or sometimes cleaning out the recess the latch plunger rides in, or minor filing to sharpen up the edge of the plunger.

Most of the time, a good cleaning will cure all sorts of problems. Many shooters never disassemble a rifle of any kind for cleaning, and after many seasons of dust, lint and accumulated cleaning oil and solvents, all sorts of "stuff" ends up in the machinery.

If that doesn't work, most of the parts needed for replacements are available from Brownells and Midway. Worn springs and such are usually less than $10 (usually a lot less), and are very simple to swap out.
