thoughts.

I've tried the Leverevolution ammo in three rifles.

Savage 340 bolt rifle the accuracy was terrible, not a s good as green/yellow factory Remington 30-30 150 grain flat nose.

Marlin 336 30-30 again terrible accuracy. Both of these particular 30-30 are VERY accurate with factory Remingtons and with my handloads.

Marlin 336 35 remington, very accurate.

They do produce some nice kills on deer as they are basically a hollow point bullet and expand well at low velocities, I suspect that the jackets are a little thick so the front expands while the remainder stays togather (good).

TR I've shot a lot of the 125 grain Green box Sierras in both my single shots 30-30 and 30-40 Krag.
they shoot lights out accurate. Howeven they are not any good for killing PA whitetails. They just don't seem to get any penetration. I hunt the NC part of PA mountains and you really have a tough time recovering a deer if it runs over 100 yards. On 4 kills on whitetails they left no blood trail and traveled 10-250 yards with heart/lung hits. I got all four but abandoned the bullet for deer. I do use them for groundhogs because of the accuracy and lighter weight.

I can hit golf balls at 100 yards off the bench with my 45-70 using LEVERevolution ammo. However they hang up in the action, I always hunt deer with only one in the pipe and a magazine tube full of Buffalo Bores. The Buffalo Bores hit a half foot higher at a hundred but come back down at 200. I only hunted last year with my 45-70 and downed a decent doe at just over 100 yards. Absolutely drilled her. Slightly quartering away, hit right behind front shoulder and busted through the opposite shoulder. She dropped within ten yards. The sleeker profile of the flex tip lends to good ballistics but it hangs up in my 45-70 action. Which is actually a pretty big negative. Other 45-70 rounds cycle like butter in my action. My 44 mag (marlin) cycles fine with them tho' and shoots them very accurately too. Wish they would make a heavier version in the .44. I still would rather hunt with Buffalo Bore's 270 grainers in my .44 even though they only group 4-5 inches at 100 yards out of my marlin, but they hit much, much harder. I really wouldn't use the LEVERevolution's on any heavy game such as hogs or bear, but for thin skinned game, that typically doesn't eat you, I think they are just fine and quite the bargain.

If you don't reload or plan to reload the 45 Colt and 45-70 and 450 Marlin is ok.

They cut the brass shour o it is hard to use for other bullets.

I see no downside for the 30-30

I researched them a lot for my 444 and 32 Special. I can't see myself ever dropping the 265 Hornady FN in the 444. Just too much success.

The big sellers like Cabelas and Midway have a lot of reviews on the 30-30 and 32 Special FTX ammo. My take was a great deer cartridge and good for a scoped 30 or 32 to stretch the range. They do hit much harder at 200 yards from FN factory rounds.

When I burn up a supply of Imperial's in my Special I'll be loading the Speer Hot-core. I stomp around mixed game country and a sturdier bullet is in order. Also the Speer is a fairly slick bullet. If deer and coyotes were the game I would sure try the FTX out.

I have tried that pricey Hornady ammo in both my 45/70 1895 and .444 Marlin 1895. I never got the velocity they claimed on the box. However, it was very accurate through my 45/70 at 75 yds to the tune of 1.80 MOA. Now the .444 calbier just shot a 4.5 inch group at 100 yds with a 2x7 Leupold on top. My reloads with "Beartooth Bullets" hardcast, cut this almost in half at the 100 yd range.

I shot some of it through a 336 Marlin when I helped another shooter sight in his new rifle. Accuracy seemed quite good but I had no history of how that rifle shot with anything else.

My personal take on it is that it is another "designer" round intended to appeal to the guy who is looking for some manner of magic bullet to make him Stud Macho, Deerslayer. If I was tied to using factory ammo I would spend roughly the same $ on three boxes of regular 30-30 ammo instead of two of super, whiz-bang LeverEvolution, get in some extra practice and be pretty content with that.

I've had great accuracy in .45-70 and slightly flatter trajectory, but I didn't like how explosive they were on game. They also dejacketed a few times for me.

Seems some rifles do well with it, and some do not so well. About the same as any ammo.

I always read the threads on the FTX bullets, look at the price, and order the same bullets I've used all along. Then again, like a dedicated golfer, I have a rifle for everything.

Maybe this year I'll try a few, as I picked up a box when they came out, for a friend. They shot poorly over 748 and BL-C2, and he gave up on em. Then again, powder prices are up. + - + - ?

I tried them in my 336 30-30 and got terrible accuracy. I've got two boxes sitting on the shelf that will most likely be there for a long, long time. The same rifle will drive tacks with the regular old Winchester 150 gr Power Point factory ammo. I've had great performance on deer with the PP ammo and am going to stick with it. It is hard to reload it for less than I can buy it.

Shot it in my .45-70 Marlin 1895G it totally sucked I could not get any group under 4-5 inches. With my 1894 in .357mag it shoots great!! Almost better than my hand loads.

It is as accurate as Remington 200 grain out of my 35 rem 336 which is 1 1/2 inch at 100 yards. As far as performance on white tail the only one I've shot with it was at 10 yards which don't tell much about long range performance. It was hit behind the front shoulder and exited behind the last rib on the opposite side with the entry wound larger that the exit wound. It ran about 80 yards before collapsing leaving virtually no blood trail. But I imagine that it's heart was not pumping to much at that point. it did take a little searching to find it in the thicket I was hunting in. So for me the jury is still out on the FTX in the 35 Rem.
