Want to know if any of you older more experienced shooters can give me any information about the .375 Winchester that Marlin made. just recently bought one for round about $700 dollars Australian. would like to know best handloads for this rifle as well as i`l prob be looking into reloading because its around $54 for 20 rounds here in oz! If any one could help, cheers!
I wrote two articles on the cartridge. See my webpage.
There have been new powders introduced since then, but in my tests THE powder and load was 36.0 of Reloder 7 with either the 200 or 220 bullet from Hornady and Sierra. That is a grain or so under maximum, but is about 99% of a case full and very accurate. I could usually get nearly an inch for five shots with my Contender pistol and 14" barrel at 2000 fps.
Ranch Dog .379-235, 100% wheel-weights.IMR-4198, and H-322 produced tight groups.I found that a heavy crimp improved accuracy.Good luck with your loads.
