Can anyone tell me how to restore the Gold color to a 39A trigger or where to get one.

I see you've not gotten a response so I'll pass some old information on to you.

Years ago in a gun magazine - Gun World, I think, circa 1962 - there was a story about firearms plating. Kits were sold for home electroplating which used dry cell batteries for power. Various plating compounds were offered with the kit. Typically you de-plated an old finish and then reapplied new plating. I don't know if the kits are still available but I think all you are doing is dealing with a plating issue - either at home or by a professional. As I recall, the kit results were very good.

The easy way out is to just contact the various firearms parts houses. Your trigger should not be too hard to come up with.

You might try an internet search on gold plating. You may get lucky.

That kit was pretty good. Sold direct by the manufacturer someplace in Texas IIRC. It was advertised in those small adds in the back of the American Rifleman.

Back in the '80,s a cop friend of mine who got me into shooting big time, IPSC and all, decided to look into electroless nickel plating. We experimented on old semi-worthless guns,[ because no gun is worthless], but soon got it down pat. I was just the helper but it is quite involved and the results are rewarding. We did the frame only on a Gov,t Mark IV .45 and it turned out amazing. Coupled with the blued slide, it was a head turner. Still have it to this day. I remember the supplies were quite dear to get and timing of different dips was crutial. Deekes

Maltise, After sleeping on this, I think I'd e-mail Marlin and see what a new gold color trigger cost...it might be the cheapest solution. Or you could take the trigger off and take it to a local plater, most large towns have them. shouldn't be too $$$, if the guy that runs it hunts, he may even do it free.

Someone from another forum gave me a heads up that Midway had them. Sure enough they are on backorder so I placed the order. They are suppose to be in on the 23rd of this month. About $19.

It's a factory trigger, not sure about the gold plating though.
