Super photo and nice rooster. Here in the UK the black cockers are becoming very popular and we have three on my own shoot. Amazes me how they manage to get a big cock bird in the mouth never mind carry it. I dropped a big cock pheasant back into a small wooded area yesterday and although my viszla could smell something in a big patch of bramble thorn and stinging nettles, he refused to go in. Along came my friends little black cocker and no hesitation, straight in and no cock pheasant but two rabbits made a very fast exit.

Thanks Sus Scrofa. I saw after I got this black cocker, that Princes Kate had a black cocker, that she was field training. I love everything about mine but have not had any clean clothes for the last two years since getting him. I was later told you can own a springer but you wear the cocker.

I think the fact the Duchess of Cambridge has a nice black cocker spaniel is the opposite to what normally happens with celebrities. She had the dog because IT was the celebrity, not the other way around. I'm sure it is the same in the States, people see some celeb with a dog or cat or whatever and have got to have one themseleves. The brilliant little spaniels where popular here well before the Duchess arrived on the scene. I'm sure it will get plenty of work on the Royal shooting days this year.

Thanks Cuz. When you were in ND were you hunting on public land? I would like to do a trip to ND, but on the cheap, so I would be looking at the walk-in or public hunting.
