Navy Arms / EMF 1892 rifles?

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

Anybody ever had any problems with Navy Arms or EMF 1892 rifles/carbines? I know that they are made by Rossi, but have heard horror stories about various Rossi's of the past. I lucked out in an older Interarms carbine, but am thinking about a newer short rifle.

Thanks,

Patrick

patrick,
I currently have 2 EMF Hartford 1892 rifles - a 20" carbine and a 24" octagon rifle. Both in .45 Colt. Both worked fine out of the box AND disassembly, cleaning & lightening hammer and ejector springs worked wonders. The best advice I could give to ensure a trouble-free rifle would be to buy it from Steve Young aka Nate Kiowa Jones down in Texas. He's generally considered to be the best '92 gunsmith around. He'll get you the EMF Hartford model/caliber you want for 10% over wholesale, do his standard action job, and send to an FFL of your choice (or find one for you). I sent my carbine to him and it was not the same rifle when I got it back. He's an Ace with these guns. Here's his website if you'd like to check his prices - http://stevesgunz.com/SalesSG.htm The 1892 is a great rifle; I'm sure you will enjoy it a lot and if you hunt, the rifle is very strong so you can use hot hunting ammo. Both of mine feed RNFP & SWC bullets flawlessly.

Jim
