Registered Users do not see the above ad.

Does anyone have any information on a Sears and Roebuck model 292.51779. Hawken 50 caliber rifle. It has a Miroku barrel.

Welcome to the forum Piasa. Rules are simple, be nice and join in.

Boy I'm not familiar with that muzzle loader. Sears usually remarks guns made by other folks so this may be from a number of makers. You may give Sears a call and see if you can find out who the actual maker was.

Miroku is a Japanese gun company that makes a wide range of guns from very high quality over and under shotguns to muzzleloaders. They make Browning 1885 single shot 45-70s and the 1886 lever action. I've never seen one of their MLs, but would imagine the barrel is decent quality. Sears label probably would keep the value way down.

Thanks, I was amazed at how far back Miroku barrels go back. I don't know about value but the barrel is stamped Miroku with a serial number 1110 besides the sears model number. Maybe I can contact Miroku and they could give me some information about powder loads for the barrel.
