help with duck hunting

I am heading out tomarrow to try my hand at duck hunting. I am lacking a dog, boat, blind, and everything I hear you need for a duck hunt. Any tips? I could use all the help I can get. like where should I look to hunt? And what do I use for cover? Anyone around the Holly, Michigan area that might know a good spot to start?

Your best bet, and I say this while not knowing your neck of the woods, is hunting the small water. Little creeks and potholes. If you spot ducks on the water, try to sneak up close and try to drop them on dry land. If a flock heads your way, don't move. Stay perfectly still until they're in range, then pick out one bird. Don't flock shoot. If a bird tumbles in the air, you can try for a second. If it sets it's wings and glides, hit it again. Good hunting.

Bye
Jack

We hunt ducks here in NH by sitting on the river bank, With chest waders on. set up a couple dozen decoys and start calling. Some of the best river locations are less than knee deep. We down use a blind as the grass is high and the trees on the rivers edge also give you cover, the other side of the river is clear for 100's of yards. Good luck, Jim
