Thinking of getting a Marlin 336 in 356 as a(nother) deer rifle.

Was wondering how accurate the Micro Grove rifling is with cup & core bullets ?

I shoot 200gr Remington CL-PP bullets in my Ruger M77 358 and wanted to use the same in the M336 in 356.

My other option would be a 356 in a Winny 94, but would prefer the Marlin.

Thanks Lj

My 336ER shoots the Winchester factory loads just fine and pretty much on a par with my BLR/.358 shooting the Win factory load. Sounds like you are shooting the bullet used in the .35 Whelen (and .350RM) in your M77 .358?? I'd think that the 220gr Speer flat nose would be another good choice in the .356. I have also read of people having good results using the new 200gr FTX bullets from Hornady (made for the .35 Rem). I still have 7 boxes of factory ammo, so it will be a while before i need something else. I lucked into 6 boxes for a total of $120. about a year ago.:D
