I'm in the market for purchasing a 17 hornet. I havent decided on rifle yet. The three manufacturers currently offering this rifle are CZ527, Savage 25, ruger 77/17. All models are
$600-700. Which one would you purchase and why.
Thanks, Andrew

Personally, I'd get the CZ.

They have great wood, excellent metal finishes, and they shoot bug hole sized groups. The CZ line of rifles are top notch and something that you'll be proud to show off and hand down.

All nice guns, but I would probably pick the Savage. I like the laminated thumbhole with it's 24 inch barrel and they are pillar bedded. I'm not sure if the others have any bedding or not, they could though. I would think the Savage has a better choice in after market products if you ever wanted to do something with it

I own rifles by CZ, Savage, and lots of Rugers.

The Savage will almost certainly shoot pretty well, and cost the least, but it's homely.
The CZ Varmint will be a tack driver as sure as the sun comes up in the morning, but I wish that magazine wasn't in the way. I really like my CZ527/.223 though.
The Ruger will be the sharpest looking. I have a new Predator and the gray finish with the Green Mountain stock looks totally awesome, especially with the Leuplod 3X-9X camo finish scope. It will likely cost a bit more than the other two.
