Snow Geese in the Skagit
As you know we in the Pacific Northwest are blessed by thousands of Snow Geese wintering on the Stillaquamish every year. They are so numerous they turn the sky gray when they take off every morning. The tulip fields are white with geese for as far as the eye can see.
It's not easy shooting them however. You have to put out many decoys and be on the field they want to land on. However if you luck out and manage to be on that field the shootign is great.
I was Snow Goose hunting this weekend but no luck. The geese were flyin gover but too high. When one did fly over me, about 20 yards away, I had already put my shotgun in the truck. I couldn't react fast enough to load up and shoot. The snow goose wouldn't be dinner this weekend. We only have a few weeks left.
