Saw this on the morning news. 8 Cougars caught TOGETHER on trail camera. Here is the link.

I was skeptical at first but looking at the 3 photos shows interaction and flash shadows correctly on different cats. Man if they are cooperating the deer and elk have no chance.

They've been "grouped-up" over here just north of the Tri-Cities for quite some time

How far is just north? Say more than 100 miles?

That is just plain scary. would be interesting to hear some expert opinions.

Here is a local story on it where or super cougar expert (ex is a has been and spert is a drip under pressure) gives his take on it.

Mesa/Connell, So 30 miles north. There has been a pair at the Youth Ranch in Basin City for the past decade or better. Someone gets eyes on them every month or so. We've seen them, and all their footy-prints in the fields for a long time.
There was a set, only one now, over just east of Connell. When we farmed that City piece they would go to the well turbines for water. I saw the male at least a dozen times that summer. That set was causing problems with a sheep rancher there, he complained and complained to Fins and Feathers but after refusing to come and inspect the ranch they determined there to be no Cougars. The H.S. track team changed it's cross country path due to activity.
And as recent as last month, the security camera's at Coyote Ridge caught him stalking the perimeter fence.

Its funny how there is no problem until someone gets attacked. I work at Hanford and have talked with Othello ranchers that ride horses in the white bluffs and saddle mountians that see cougers all the time just never have heard off that many in one place at the same time.

The cougar population is getting high, that is not really disputable. things would get better if we were allowed to use hounds to hunt them around here.

Should go back to bounty's on them it worked years ago. Just think what the wolves add to the mix.
