Yes = he's repaired a couple of old Redfields for me. Did a great job, just took a while to get them back due to his heavy work schedule.

I can tell you that I sent 2 Redfield (1970 scopes models 4 x 12 and 2 x 7 widefield) in for repair, actually to get new O-rings and checked out by Redfields repair shop in Florida.
They first tried to tell me they didn't have my rifle scopes! Then it was that they are being looked at and then it was they can not be fixed. So I said fine.....Just send them back to me OK! This NEVER happened....they kept the scopes. Then after I told them my lawyer would send then a letter, the rifle scopes were found.
The result was they kept my money and said those scopes were unrepairable. They they told me I should trade them in on New Redfields and they would give me a discount etc. The discount was more money than I could purchase the scopes new from any gun store mind you.
They sent my scopes back but only after I told them I would turn things over to the Attorney General for false statements, then it still took over 7 months and the scopes were in worse shape after receiveing them back. The reticules were way off and the inside glass was all smudge up with someting, to where you could NOT see out of them.

Redfield - or at least the name and any currently made scopes - are actually owned by Bushnell so you may want to call them and see where the closest factory repair facility is to you that the recommend and send it there.

Meade Optics, which own Redfield, Weaver and Simmons, will not do repair work on the older Colorado made scopes.

I sent two older Redfields to Mike at Iron Sights. They were recieved by them on March 3rd. They are due back to me sometime in early to mid October. As far as I have heard Mike is THE Redfield guy! You just need to be very patient. Every time I have called, they are very polite and curteous and acknowledge that they have my scopes without any confusion or other issues. I am optomistic that when I receive the scopes back the repairs will be top notch. Because they have such a good reputation they are swamped with business. Good luck, Peter.

Just like a gunsmith I worked for. If your in a hurry, he will hand you your gun back. Give him time and it will be done right the first time. He doesn't want the business if they try to rush him.

Iron Sights, the Black Hole
Since posting a negative comment about Iron Sights, I have been in contact with Mike at Iron Sights and he has "ironed" out everything and they made everything right. Mike explained if you send a scope in, it may take several month before you get it back. The best way to contact them is by phone, the number is on the website. I can now say they are an outstanding company and deserve your business.

This sounds like an instant replay of what happened to me, when I sent my 2 Redfield rifle scopes in to the Redfield Repair Station which was located in Florida at that time. I spent the money and insurance to send those scopes in for repair but nothing was being done really. The only thing I kept hearing from them was: "YOU should trade those in on 2 new Redfield scopes and we will give you a small tradin for those broke scope"
Things never got better, I got letters telling me how much I would save etc by trading in my 2 old rifle scopes but the truth is, I could go out and purchase the same 2 new scopes for far less money at other gun stores in my area. I would be giving them my old scopes for virtually nothing and still payin a higher cost for those new scopes. It was more like a Big Scam really. I told them to return both my scopes, it took months and I never got my deposit back either. LOST CAUSE with Redfield Repair!!!
Tracer....aka 2Bits, Cozy,

Just to keep this post current, I sent my Scope in October of 2009. They cashed my check ASAP. I am still waiting. Not in any Panic because I was in no hurry; however will keep all on this Web Sight current on my Repair timeline. Jeff

Called them on Friday the 23rd of April. I left a Msg. and said, all I wanted to know was when I might be able to expect my scope to be sent back. I was polite and left my phone Number. It is now the 27th of April and not even a call back. At least they cash your check ASAP.

I got my scope back 5-17-2010. It looks good and fair is fair. I think I am going to stay with my Leupolds. Bottom line on the whole " Redfield" experience: do not be in a hurry or buy Redfield. Happy Shooting everyone. Jeff

The new Redfields should not have these issues since they are now owned by Leupold. I have never needed to use Leupold's warranty system but other guys say it is top notch.

Older Redfields had no warranty repair when they folded.
With Leupold now owning Redfield, you'd have to contact them about warranty work on ones made prior to their acquisition.

Excellent Service from Iron Sights
Since my posting on April 2nd, Mike at Iron Sights has contacted me and I now have nothing but praise for his company. It is a small company, that does excellent work. Due to their volume, it may take some time to get your scope back, but you will know it has been repaired right. In my case, the Weaver scope was not repairable, so he offered me a replacement scope at a good price.

Scope repairs
Mike
has had some issues in 2011 on delivery. His people revolted and he got left with a lot of work and no hands to do it. He has a guy named Walker running the show who will tell you what you want to hear and then go his merry way never meeting his schedule commitments.
Actually he does not know how to schedule and so can't predict a delivery date. That is the problem. Current deliveries are predicted to be 51 weeks. Stay with Leiupold or new redfields
so you don't have to wait a year for repairs if you need them.

scope repair
Contacted Iron Sight yesterday, 10/24/2012, and was told that scopes sent for repair will not be returned for 12 to 14 months.
