X-bolt Scope Mounting Question

(I did not get any response in the Optics section so I am repeating post here)

I’m looking for advice on the best scope ring/mount for a Browning X-bolt I plan to buy.

Browning makes an integrated scope mount for their new X-bolt in a great variety of sizes and finishes. Considering that there are 4 screws per base end, and because separate bases and rings would cost about twice as much, is there any good reason NOT to buy Browning’s integrated scope mount for that rifle?

I plan to buy and mount a Bushnell Elite 6500 Riflescope 2.5-16 x 42 mm objective scope, which has a 30mm tube. Browning says their “standard” height rings (and I assume it applies to their integrated scope mount too) fits objectives up to 44 mm, assuming the barrel has a “standard contour.” The scope is 13.5 inches long. I just want to be sure that the “standard” height Browning rings would be appropriate for that scope and rifle. Should the "standard" height be fine? Thanks.

Hello Greg, I have a Browning A Bolt . 338Win Mag with a 6500 Elite scope just like the one you mention , is mounted on a Leupold 2 pce base with medium size 30mm rings and as you can see from the picture there is a little room to spare.
I don know if this answer your question but that is the best I could answer...regards

looks to me like the 'standard' height at .300" will work well. add to that the thickness of the base and you'll have plenty of clearance for the objective diameter you describe.
the integrated system looks very similar to Talley's lightweight aluminum ringmount, and at .400" for the 'standard', also should fit your needs. about half the price as well.
good luck.
by the way, i don't own an x-bolt so am only giving an educated guess. take a look at Burris's mount fit guide and you'll get the info on ring height needed relative to objective diameter.
