Parts for older Sako L61R Finnbear?

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

Hello to all:

I have a friend that has an older Sako 300 Win Mag (think it's 1960's vintage...serial no.19XXXX), that needs an "extractor plunger". This is a component part that is part of the extractor/spring assembly on the bolt. We have searched the typical part places (Brownells, Numrich, etc) with no luck.

Know of anyone that might carry these old Sako parts?

Best to all,
Dan

Think I'd try a Google search on Sako to find a dealer/distributor/factory rep and see if they might be able to help me.

Brownell's or Numerich should have what you need.

Or call Becky at Jack First Gun Shop in Rapid. 605-343-8481

Hmmm... an 'extractor plunger'....
Maybe some Sako experts here will know more than I do, but, on the L series Sakos I own, there is an extractor, which is a flat plate. The extractor rides in a slot on the front of the right bolt lug. And there is an extractor spring.
I have no idea what an 'extractor plunger' is, on a Sako L series.
Might you be looking for an extractor?

This is a little off the subject

Does anyone know if there is a steel bottom metal made for the Finnbear?

Thank you-

message to Dan 444

Hi Dan

I'm new on the Forum, however, I have a L61R- 300 H&H Mag. Finnbear Rifle and
I have a problem with extracting the shell. I believe the extractor is broken and was
wondering if you had the same problem. If you did, I need a replacement part and
the place where you found the part house....

If you or anyone can help I would appreciate it....

Pearlie J Cannon, San Antonio, Tx.....

Welcome to the forum, pjcnno -

I've edited your post to remove the email link. You really don't want to post such things on the internet as you may get bombarded with junk from trolls.

Most folks here on the board will respond directly to your thread by posting their information. They may also elect to use the "Personal Message (PM) system to contact you directly. The PM is located in the upper right of any page on the board.

To give you a start - have you tried Googling for Sako rifle parts? Might give that a try and see what comes up.

Also, www.e-gunparts.com (Numrich Arms) may be able to help you.
