I would like to know the C.U.P. for the 45/70 Government
in Remington Express Rifle 405 gr.SP R4570G I have a Davide Pedersoli in that calibre and the instructions state that the C.U.P. should not exceed 25,000 I have attempted to contant Remmington but their website does not provide the answer at least I cannot find it there.

All factory 45-70 Gov't ammunition from Winchester, Remington and Federal are unlikely to exceed 21,000 CUP. These companies give more consideration to the Springfield Trapdoor rifles still in circulation than those with other commercial offerings.

you can get higher pressure stuff from buffalo bore. Lyman, Lee and Hornady all list separate charges/loads by type of gun, with trapdoors being anemic up to very stout for Ruger #1 and Siamese Mauser. Also check realguns.com for some handload info

When I got my origional 1873 Sprinfield 45/70 Trapdoor Carbine,I shot 2 boxes of that same Remington ammunition through it with no problems.
Your modern replica is probablty just as strong as it is.
