IMO, that's as good as you are going to get.

I got some Winchester 180 grain jsp ammo a couple years back from Midway so's I'd have some reloadable brass. Velocity is running 2679.

The 7.62x54R is an impressive round. The PK machine guns and Russian sniper rifles our Afghan Army allies used were very impressive weapons. The PK kicked any of our MGs butt! It is basically a fully automatic belt fed .30-06 equal that never jams.

Aim has Soviet 147gr light ball, #60 (Barnuel) manufacture. $69.95 per 440. I have some 1970's Barnuel 203gr soft points that are not for the faint of heart. They are hot and are pile drivers. SPG carries 203gr.
I bought 1.5 cases of the light ball from AIM, good stuff.
