Pet Loads for 7mm/08 in Remington Model 7

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

My wife has been shooting this rifle for a while and really likes it. I had a bunch of 140gr NBT loaded for it that shot reasonably well and she's almost out of those. I'd really like to see if the 120 Barnes Triple Shock would should for her.

Have any of you ever loaded the TSX in 120gr with good results?

I've had really good luck with the Hornedy 139 grain SST's in my 280 Remington. They seem to shoot good in any 7mm I've ran them thru and kill very well.

I've been shooting the same load as your wife ever since I bought my 7-08 many years ago. The Nosler 140gr BT just seemed to shoot well and kill even better so I've never changed. I would guess that the Barnes triple X in 120 gr will do the job if you can find the sweet spot to reload. Good luck and when you do find the load, please share it with the rest of us.

Will do, I just think that 120 gr triple x would be awesome for deer size critters and easier on the shoulder for her. IF, I can find the sweetspot. It will be fun trying, might end up shooting the old loads in the long run.

I love the triple X bullet and that's all I shoot out of my 300 RUM. Biggest problem I've found is they're so dog-gone expensive to work up a load with. I'm currently playing with them in my .243 as well as going from the 180 gr to the 200 gr in the 300 RUM. I'll be anxious to hear how you make out with the 7mm. Maybe that'll be my next battle to fight.
