Browning X-Bolt

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

I have seen 2- both ugly wood, and the bolt is a "hex" shape. The bolt handle is small and flat. I then looked at a BAR Long-Trac, which is even uglier.

If you have these, I mean no offense. I have/had several Brownings , and they were all well made. I wonder why Browning made an ugly rifle that demanded custom bases(The X means 4 screw holes per base, as opposed to 2)

I own the X-Bolt in 308. It might be ugly, but it sure shoots great. Better than my A-Bolt for certain. The X bases supposedly adds stability to your optics? With my current setup, I would be comfortable engaging a target out to 450-500 yds using Federal Prem ammo. Very accurate out of the box with minimum tinkering.

have you looked at their other offerings? even worse. and dont even get me started on their attempt at a lever gun. leverguns have tubular magazines under the barrel, not a detachable box. yeah, its great for reloading, but if you need more than whats in your magazine, youre wasting ammo. only time you should reload is when youre sitting down. i cant stand their stocks, too thin, weak and very oddly shaped. not very eye pleasing.
