7mm-08 PRVI PARTIZAN help

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

Hi all,

I'm about to buy 5-10 cases of 7mm-08 ammo. Plan to use on deer.

Saw this at miwayusa and I might buy it after hearing your opinions.

What do you think of it?

boxes of 20 rounds. Want to get enough hunting ammo for a little while. Whats the consensus on this stuff?

Prvi Partizan

Haven't tried partizan in 7mm08 but have tried it in other calibers. Seems to shoot good groups in some of my rifles. The only complaint I have is that it seems to foul the barrel alot more than the other ammo that is available.

i assume you mean as in powder residue? as in not real clean burning?
i read the reviews on midways site and they sort a implied that this newer stuff was not as dirty as previous lots. heck if it shoots good groups, i'll be happy to clean a tad more often. the real question i have is how well does the bullet perform in terms of controlled expansion and retained wt. a good grouping bullet does squat for me if it fragments and not penitrate or pencils through without real trama or damage.

Normally this type ammo and the stuff coming out of Africa, the PMP ammo, would be loaded with a Speer or Hornady bullet. I have 32 boxes of the PMP in three different cartridges, 243, 270 and 30-06 and it is loaded with Speer bullets.

I never said the ammo in this thread was out of Africa. I said this ammo AND the stuff coming out of Africa.

Do you find that the ammo you have is fine for hunting?

Would you expect the 7mm-08 stuff to do well on whitetail?

on a side note i was in a old sportings good store out in the country side today and they had some old ammo for sale. i have to think it was old stock as the .280 rem ammo was in remington box stamped 7mm Express. but it was only 16.00 so i bought one.

Ya i meant powder residue, sorry for the confusion.

As for performance I can't see any real difference between it and others like rem or winch. Keep in mind though I have only used it on varmints and have not taken the time to open them up and take a closer look at what happened internally. Went in small and came out bigger every time.

I bought 10 boxes of 20 rounds of the prvi partizan 7mm-08. I also bought 2 boxes of federal soft point 150gr. all in all, 240 rounds for 200 bucks shipped, not bad i guess.
