Does anybody know if Weatherby is planning on coming out with a .270 WSM anytime soon?

I doubt it. It would possibly cut into sales of the 270 Weatherby Magnum. Weatherby came out with an advertisement when the 270 WSM was introduced that extolled the virtues of the 270 Weatherby Magnum in the Weatherby Mark V rifle.

Another reason that's not likely---they would have to come up with a new action size.

Yeah, that's right. A nine-locking lug short-action with the bolt diameter around the size of the one for the 378 and 460 Weatherbys. Good point!

They have them listed in their new catalog but of course it's on the Vanguard(Howa) action.

The Weatherby Vanguard is currently chambered in the 300 Winchester Short Magnum, it is not currently chambered in the 270 Winchester Short Magnum.

Well I goofed, but I don't think it will be long till they get the .270 and the 7mm,wouldn't put it passed Howa to already have it,might try their site and see if their offering it yet, if so I'll bet it will be soon marked with the Vaanguard name.
