Henry Lever action front sight

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

My wife just bought me a brand new .22 Henry lever action rifle and while I love the gun, the quality of it and the way it shoots I am extremely disappointed in the front sight.

It is a very thick front sight that makes it very difficult to do any kind of precision shooting. I have added a scope for the time being but to me it takes away from the look of the rifle.

Does anyone know where I can get a better replacement sight with a thinner post?

A good friend just got one 3 month's ago and has the exact same complaint about the front sight. Loves everything else about the gun except the front sight. He changed the color of the dot from white to a flourescent green and said that has helped some. He too went ahead and put a scope on his but would rather not have it. Keep us updated if you find a better sight for it and I can pass it along. Best of luck to ya sir !!

If it's got a hood on it,it pops right off.Much better that way.The only cure i can think of is the ghost ring set up like an AR.Saw them some where....Cabelas or midway?

hiviz makes a new front sight for the henry .22's the band is dovetailed and has a fiber optic rod inside it. the band is dovetailed so there should not be a problem changing from the fiber optic to a marbles or williams front blade. on mine i habe the williams guide rear site on the dovetail, which requires a higher front blade. also you can cut a dovetail in the front sight band which came with thr rifle. the hiviz sight is around $40 and a front blade is about $10-15 so when all is considered you are looking at about a $70 upgrade for the rifle for the front and 40 for the rear and you will have a sweet shooter.

The Lyman 17A works well, though chances are good that you will need to raise the rear sight to compensate.

Marble Arms has a tang sight that works very nicely with the Lyman 17A.
