Mossberg 46M (b) question

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

Barrel clearly stamped 46M (b). Stock extention/fore end isn't Mannlicher, it extends 1" past the wide standard Mannlicher barrel band to just behind the tube loading hole. I've had opinions that it is factory (my opinion based on the way it's made, and my gunsmith's, a 30+ year vet). Others have seen pictures and think it's bubba.

I'd post pictures, but don't know how to do so on this forum. Can someone enlighten me?

I'm not arguing in either direction about the fore end, I'd just like to know.

Thanks

The 45M(b) is supposed to have the Mannlicher stock, but with factories in general I've seen a lot of uncatalogued stuff.

I would be skeptical of a short stock, but would look at any other parts that may have been shortened. Do the parts look factory finished, shaped like factory parts, the same size as other factory produced parts (even other models). Look for odd stamps or anything that is "different looking".

Big Mossberg 22 fan, looking forward to pictures.
Here is a link to the stickies, post 1 has the how to which you probably already know. Post 2 puts "the heavy hand of restriction on you" there are good reasons for the restrictions but I'll leave that to the mods.
