Previous trademark used on Montgomery Ward rifles and shotguns.

The Western Field trademark has appeared literally on hundreds of various models (shotguns and rifles) sold through the Montgomery Ward retail network. Most of these models were manufactured through subcontracts with both domestic and international firearms manufacturers. Typically, they were "spec." guns made to sell at a specific price to undersell the competition. Most of these models were derivatives of existing factory models with less expensive wood and perhaps missing the features found on those models from which they were derived. To date, there has been very little interest in collecting Western Field guns, regardless of rarity.

This was taken from Blue Book publications, not from me!

The m850a was produced by mossberg for wards between 1958 and 1960. It's a knock off of the mossberg 350. E-gunparts has a link to the mag you need, but are sold out (I own one as well and have tried, but they are real hard to come by). Hopefully this was a help.

The originals are hard to find and a little pricey ! However there are 10 Rd. replacements available from several suppliers . They can be found on Gun Auction sites , like GunBroker and Auction Arms . I can't imagine that GunParteCorp is out of them as they sell the replacements , they won't be out for long I'm sure ! The aftermarket units need to be tuned to your rifle , usually a file and some square jawed Pliers are all thats needed . If you get one you can PM me and I'll help you fit it !
