Don't know how much this will help you but from appearances the model your talking about is very similiar to the 391 series. I would suspect they are basically the same with some changes to lower the cost of production. There web site says the 3901 is American made while I believe the 391 is imported. I bought a 391 last year in 20 gauge based on my earlier experiences with the 302 in 12 gauge. Had I been able to find a used 302 in 20 gauge I would have went that route but couldn't so bought the newer model. After shooting the newer model I'm glad and pleased with the improvements made in the newer model. Shell capacity was a huge improvement. Operation is easier, faster and improved in my opinion over the older model. Whether its better fit or the reduced recoil from the smaller gauge I've noticed an improvement in hits with them being kills instead of knock downs. I wouldn't go back although I did retain my old model for waterfowl hunting.

Based on what hailstone has said, I'd say its a winner. I used a 391 in Mexico, hi-volume shooting, and was very impressed. In five days it never failed me and that is saying a lot for a semi-automatic that is used day-in and day-out in high volume shooting (belonged to the outfitter).

Otherwise, if it fits, wear it.... would be my advise.
