How well does buckshot actually kill deer?

Best answer:

I have killed a large number of deer with buckshot fired from regular shotguns, muzzle loading cap lock shotguns and flintlock shotguns, 20, 12 and 10 gauge. All of them were very dead........

some of the deer i killed with buckshot were reasonably dead. others were rather dead but none of them survived the ordeal

...can be used to bring most hunting camp talkathons on the subject to a sputtering stop! The same goes for any caliber under discussion. The tactic of replying with the logical conclusion posed by the question, bypasses virtually all argumental angles.

The moral of the story is simple and logical:
Be careful how you phrase your question!
