Great idea! also if anyone has a vacuum sealer use the vacuum bags to seal in the sand then insert the sealed bags
into the range bag material.

I had mine made the same size as plastic ice bags.
Then put in three ice bags to hold the sand. The cloth part is much longer than the ice bag and gets folded over and tied, like money bags. I thought the plastic bags would tear after a while and wanted them easy to replace. So far it's been ten years and they are still going strong!

I'm a little leery about using our vacuum sealer to do that.
It'll suck water out of the contents so I'd be concerned about sucking dust or fine particles out of the sand thru thru the Mickey Mouse pump that they use in these sealers.

That looks like a good setup for rifles. I once had a problem when I forgot to bring my sandbags. The rolled up pair of jeans I was using for a rest literally burst into flames when I fired a 2400 load in a Ruger Super Blackhawk over them. Scared me a bit when I saw all the smoke. Thought the gun blew. Regarding filling the sand bags, I have been using the round aquarium stones for some years now. It costs more but does not leak.

fill the bags with grits, rice ,or unpopped popcorn for a much lighter more portable bag. I can carry 6 in my gear bag with no problem.

Looks pretty slick to me. I used rice in my Uncle Buds Bulls Bag, works just as well and is not near as heavy.

If you use rice, enclose it in plastic. With enough humidity it will start sprouting! I know through experience.
