Ministry web site

Thought I'd share a good Ministry web site I found.

http://www.oneplace.com/

Lots of good Ministers to choose from and all that I have listened to preach the Gosple.

The neat thing about it is you can listen to some uplifting while still doing other things on the net (like hanging out here on the Beartooth site).

I use it to stay uplifted during those times I am not actually fellowshiping with my Church family.

So if you need some good "preaching" while your away from the Church, this might be a good site to get some good words about Jesus and the word of GOD.

I like most of them, but Adrian Rogers (who is with the Lord now) is probably my favorite. Only by a smidge though, as all seem to focus on one thing...Jesus.

Thank you.

Yup. Lots of good ones there. Jim Boice, Martin Lloyd Jones, J. Vernon McGee, and John MacArthur all good. I like Adrian Rogers too and D. James Kennedy.

Being "Full Gospel" and seeing the Bible Answer Man on the site makes me skeptical. People who make a career banging on other Christians turns me off.

Three things:

1) We must contend for the faith (Jude 3), which means we strive for an accurate understanding of the gospel. This protects of from every "wind of doctrine, craftiness and deceitful scheming". Eph 4:14

2) There are apostates (wolves) who would deceive the flock and lead them to error and/or destruction. (Mat 7:15, 10:16, Luk 10:3, Act 20:29). These wolves are not believers. Many of the "christians" Hank bangs on are wolves. I would name names here too: Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth and Gloria Copland, and Jessie Duplantis. These are the type mentioned in Rom 16:17-18.

3) Then again Hank is himself a sensationalist and has many hair-brained ideas about Scripture. He could probably spend less time writing and talking and more time actually trying to accurately understand the Bible.

Why am I writing this? I have the families of 2 of my sisters in law tied up in this 'word of faith' heresy. It is error to call it Christianity.

I see errors in the "faith movement" but then again I don't see the elders of any of the "critical churches" healing anyone. My Aunt who is Assembly of God has been healed twice from "terminal cancer" - twice she was given up to die and twice she was healed. Not everyone "gets it" but at least we can try. So are we to throw out James who specifically directs that Christians are to be healed by the elders of the Church. I was just reading Acts 14: 7-10 and Paul was preaching/teaching faith and one man "got it" and was healed. You could spend a lifetime in a "Calvery" style church and never get faith to be healed let alone call on the elders of the chruch because they teach against it. So I am more angry with the "anti-faith" churches than with the "faith movement" because the former is exactly like those who heard Jesus and were called by Jesus "Ye of little faith." and were the same type of people who hindered Jesus who was unable to perform miracles "because of their lack of faith." Imagine that, stopping the Son of God from preforming miracles and healings due to a lack of faith. So really I am in the middle angry at both sides. Aside from the "religious" Jesus was most angry, sad, and disappointed by the lack of faith by the Jews and his own disciples. All Christians should have the right to call on the "Elders" of the Church when attacked by satan. The "cry baby churches" and the Bible Answer Man are sorry eamples of Christians. If there is a "crisis in Christianity" it is in the area of allowing practicing sodomites to "marry" and run churches. I believe that Romans 16:16-17 is refering to these churches which have corrupted the word of God. I go to a "Reformed" church which misses the mark as well. You don't get more mainstrem Protestant than that. People long to hear not only the "milk" of the Word but the "meat" and the "cry baby churches" stopped at the "milk" and never grew up. Only if we all had some one like Paul around who could teach the "meat" and we could all be "Full Gospel." So it is no wonder that the fastest growing segment of the Body of Christ is "Full Gospel." People know in their hearts that the cry baby churches have diluted the Word of God. Regardless I love you all and this great site. God Bless.

The main thing when "listening" to someone speak on the word wither it is on radio, a web site or in church is listen to the Holy Spirit first. If you do, HE will guide you, and if you let HIM guide you (that's one of HIS jobs) then all else will fall into place.

There is only one preqeuist that I follow when determining to listen to anyone: do they put JESUS first.

To me the Gosple is this: Jesus, as GOD, became flesh, paid for my (our) sins with his own blood (crucified), was buried, rose again on the 3rd day and is the only way to to salvation.

Test (proof) all things said and done (especially when it comes to "interpreting" the word of GOD) by the word of GOD (the Bible) and pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal to you what is right.

I agree with you in part. The Holy Spirit is our Helper and Guide if we listen to Him. The problem is that many think they are listening to the Holy Spirit, but are misled.

In the words of Peter;

Quote:
2Pe 3:14 Wherefore, dearly beloved, waiting for these things, be diligent that you may be found before him unspotted and blameless in peace.
2Pe 3:15 And account the longsuffering of our Lord, salvation: as also our most dear brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, hath written to you:
2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are certain things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction.
2Pe 3:17 You therefore, brethren, knowing these things before, take heed, lest being led aside by the error of the unwise, you fall from your own steadfastness.
There are many, guided by a spirit, who proclaim Christ and claim to place Him foremost. They are even able to seemingly work miracles in His name. The unlearned and unstable flock to these preachers , falling under their sway and place their souls into peril.

Paul said this;

Quote:
2Co 11:13 For such false apostles are deceitful workmen, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no wonder: for Satan himself transformeth himself into an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers be transformed as the ministers of justice, whose end shall be according to their works.
And what did Jesus say?

Quote:
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in thy name, and cast out devils in thy name, and done many miracles in thy name?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.
Going back to Peter's words where he speaks of the unlearned, how does one get out of that space and become learned enough to understand? Is he merely speaking of the illiterate? No. He is speaking of those unlearned in Scripture and its meanings. We need good teachers, men such as Timothy who learned at Paul's feet. Yet, even the learned can be misled as shown by the Scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees.

As a general question to all;

Whose teaching authority do you trust?

To continue my thoughts from the above post, pastors attend seminary for a reason, to be properly educated. When properly educated they can then teach us through their preaching.

Some of the scariest, off-the-wall, error ridden teachings I have heard come from those who are self taught, claiming the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Some of these go on to be the cult leaders we occasionally hear about in the news.

Just my 2 cents.

Spot on with the education! Every one needs a Soloman in their life.

Guess I just have to acknowledge that I have no concept of the reasoning of God.

Now, having said that, I will say this: The shadow of Peter fell on those along the way and they were healed.

When we are prayed up and OBEDIENT, we will be usable to others via the Perfect Will of God.

I will preface this with "my idea"... Healing is but a decision that God (Righteous, Holy, Just, I AM) makes. I do not make light of His decisions and will never claim any other explaination other than Romans 14:23.

Be Spirit/Faith filled and Great things will come about when we get out of the way.

Amen Brother!

Challenge all things by the Word of GOD (the Bible).

You do that by READING the word of GOD yourself.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand the word of GOD.

If you, me or anyone thinks that the Holy Spirit is leading to something or somewhere and it does not line up with the word of GOD...RUN!
