Gotta disagree.

I've had a couple Tauruses (Taurii??) over the years and shaot a few others. I am not a dyed-in-the-wool Taurus lover or anything like that. But every one I've owned or shot was a quality gun.

Then I bought an 85 Titanium for the Mrs. It came with a bent front sight. I contacted Taurus. They told me how to send it back. It was fixed properly and returned in a very timely manner.

What more could I ask for??

I am only 24 (turn 25 in a couple of weeks) so I know I have not had the experience that most of you have. I guess you could qualify me as one of the boobs lol. I guess I just got lucky with my taurus purchase. I bought a brand new model 65 357 mag. last year and it performs flawlessly. I have put hundreds of rounds through it and not even the smallest problem has risen. In most of the above posts the problems mentioned have been with autos. I would buy another taurus revolver, but not so sure about the autos.

ABolt.270, I think you are typical of the large majority of Taurus owners.

You can get a lemon with any name on it -- slide over to the Ruger or S&W forums and check out some of the negative feedback on most of their newer models. What they write about the Ruger SR9, for instance, makes me pretty sure I don't want one -- but no one takes their bad experience and tries to condemn the whole company. Ditto the super-light S&W revolvers with the built-in action lock, or any model with the lock, for that matter. Same thing happens with all manufacturers, but for some reason the foreign companies seem to get jumped on first and fiercest.

I would say that industry wide, 90% of customers are completely satisfied with their purchase and will never have a warranty issue or complaint, 8% are happy but will have some kind of repairable warranty issue, and 2% are unhappy and will criticize every little swirl in the polish or have a legitimate nonrepairable (lemon) warranty issue.

I own a considerable number of firearms, and I've only ever had two warranty issues. One pistol was sent back, and the company paid for the freight both ways and the other was a cracked stock due to recoil, I paid freight on my end and the company paid freight and replaced the stock. Both companies have earned my continued purchases due to their great customer service.
