New to the forum.

Hello, I go by Dave, 24yrs old, my grandfather started teaching how to handle a rifle when I was 4yrs old. I enjoy all aspects of recreational shooting and hunting. Not only for the marksman bragging rights or getting to fill the freezer with meat; but the joy of cool fresh morning air being in the wild, seeing the world how it was truly ment to be. I have more experience in duck hunting but have shot more deer than ducks in the past 5 years. I am looking forward to sharing experiences and learning from some of you. But for now, I am preparing for my hunt deer hunt in the morning. East Texas

Welcome here Dave. Rules are simple - be nice and join in.

Your the same age as me, but you seem to have MUCH more experience in the shooting sports than I do. I've never hunted, and the only gun I own is a BL-22 that I received from my grandfather after his passing. I can't do much more while I'm in school. ::shrugs::

You found a fine forum to be in, that's for sure! The people here are nice, helpful, and they put up with greenhorns like me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away - lots of good info here.

Matt

Welcome Dave,

Where in East Texas are you? I grew up in San Antonio and shot my first deer in Texas but have been globe trotting for the last 26 yrs for the Army. Good luck on your hunt this weekend.

I live in a smaller town between Beaumont and Port Arthur, the past few years I have hunted Llano. This year I am hunting East Texas just north of Jasper. Didn't see any deer on my hunt, but shot a squirrel and got my feeder working right for the first time this year. I may go back up on Wendsday if my wife will let me, and I am for sure going to hunt again on Saturday. Glad to be part of the Forum!
