Tech questions on Marlin 980V, 980S, please help.

Time to choose a new bolt .22LR. Both these models have the T900 trigger system. Is the trigger group stainless for the 980S?. I like stainless for the all-weather issues, but if the T900 set is blued even in the stainless barreled model, I'd be just as well off going with the 980V. Also, the 980V suppesedly has 2 receiver screws to secure to the stock. Is there only 1 on the 980S? I'd like to do some tweaking to customize thie one I choose--glass bed it, assure free float the tube, mount a good scope and a bipod. Help in answers would be well received. Thanks.

Glass beding a Marlin rimfire is a waist of time. You would be better off cutting a new barrel and rplacing the receiver and making a new stock...but wait you would end up with a totally different gun.

The 980 V is the new version of the 880 SQ it has a heavy barrel.

The 980S has a normal barrel contour.

The trigger is phosphate coverd in both.
