.44 Mad Max (.44 Mag. Max.)

In order to help finace my Terminator project.....I will be rechambering a limited number of NEF .44 Mag. barrels to the .44 Mag. Max. until feb.15, with all barrels back to the owners by Feb.28.
The cost will be $50.00 plus shipping....bank check or money order.
I will not stamp the barrels, but rather send a letter giveing the MM# between #003 & #015. I have #000 and Steve Adams has #001 and #002.......#003 is reserved for Jerry.
The barrels #'s will be based on the postmark date.
The .44 Mad Max (.44 Mag Max) has a water capacity of 40 grs. This gives a powders capacity of plus 34.5 grs of powder, depending on type. It appears the best powder burn rates are between IMR 4198 and Re7
Loading the .44 Mad Max is very straight forth. The .44 Mad Max diamensions are indentical to the .444 Marlin at 1.80" from the base of the shell. .444 marlin sizing dies are used to full length the .44 Mad Max. Most .444 seating dies also work.
Making the cases is also simple.....Cut .444 Marlin brass to 1.80" and fireform....Run a .432" (.44 Mag) inside neck reamer into the fifireformed case.....full length size with a .444 Marlin sizing die....seat bullet.
Due to my work load....barrels not chambered during the above period will have to wait until Fall.
Notify me if you are interested at jcgates@bellsouth.net
Best Regards To All, James
