Question .223 or .243 H&R Ultra Varm.???

I want to know witch of these 2 caliber (.223 VS .243) will be the most accurate in H&R Ultra Varmint model???? and it is possible to buy a bigger cal. in that model. Hope you understand me well because i usually talk french.

It looks like the Ultra Varmint is only available in .223 and .243, but the regular rifle is chambered in larger calibres. If you want more range in a varmint gun I'd suggest the .25-06, but it's a bit much for high volume shooting. As for accuracy, the .223 has the edge, but a good .243 barrel will out shoot a poor .223 barrel.

Thank's Jack, i will probably buy a Ultra Varm. .223 and if later on i want a bigger cal., i will buy the barrel only. Because i've read that we can change the barrel.

I talked to H&R a little while back. They said they'll also have the 22-250 for the Ultra Hunter.

Ordering additional barrels will be hard for you as H&R will only perform this service for US residents.

If you're not stuck on the heavy barrel, you can get a 'regular' Handi-Rifle in 22-250. There's also a stainless steel bull barrel 22-250 available.
