I just bought a Rossi .357 Magnum single shot rifle.
While it's always fun to have a new gun in the house, I was just curious as to a couple of things, since this is the first single shot rifle I have ever owned.

1.) What scope would you guys recommend for this gun, if you have any experience with it?

2.) What kind of durability can I expect from the springs on this gun ?

3.) Are interchangeable barrels offered for these guns, like the Rossi combos, or the old H&R/ NEF?

While this gun would not be a primary hunting rifle, the deer in SE Tennessee are smallish, with a large buck weighing in around 150, so it's a good possibility it will see some action.

Any input is always appreciated!

These guns are mostly powered by coil springs and the design has been made for near a hundred years. I would expect lots of years of trouble free use from one of those little guns. Also keep in mind that Rossi is a Taurus company and their lifetime warrentee no matter who owns the gun is in effect if you should ever have a problem with it.

If you want a nice scope for a reasonable cost look at Cabela's Pine Ridge 2 by 7 scope. I've put a bunch of these on rifles with just great results and their only 70 bucks.

That's actually what I was talking about as far as scopes go. I didn't want to pay out for a Swarovski or Zeiss on a gun that I just spent $150 on !

How about a nice K2.4 or K3 steel tube Weaver from fleabay?
