I'm looking to purchase a centerfire rifle barrel for my Encore ML. Besides T/C who makes barrels for the Encore? I want a bull or varmint weight, blue or SS makes no difference. Any experience with T/C or after market barrels would be helpful. I'm interested in 6mm Rem, 25-06, or 22-250 cals only. Real interest is in a barrel not in the merits of one cal or the other. Thanks, Bill
Probably the list is most expensive to least.
Several others but that is a good quick list. Check out eabco's falling block single shots while you are there. Don't know much about them other than what he has to say about them on his web site, but they look pretty cool. Low pressure rounds only with his design though.
Don't forget a stop by Bellm's if you want to get the trigger where you want it. http://bellmtcs.com/store/ He's the only one I know of that has a full selection of trigger springs and how to instructions that you can download.
Dont overlook Beartooth forum member David White. David has done some work for us and it is first rate. Our most accurate TC barrel is the 17 Hornet he reamed for us.
I'd go with a barrel from David White, or Mike Bellm....in that order. If off-the-shelf is just fine for what you are needing, you can get lots of different barrels from Midway or at www.Thompson-Barrels.com .

I have a good 26" heavy .22-250 blue encore barrel. It shoots lights out with 55gr Gamekings and IMR 4064. It has probably had 100 rounds shot through it. It is Scoped with a nice Burris 4.5x14. I just don't use it much and might be willing to part with it. Send me a private message if you are interested.
I bought both of my Encore barrels "aftermarket" after getting the frame first. One is a 250/3000 barrel that is 20" and the other is a 204 Ruger bull barrel. One is stainless and the other not. Both have worked flawlessly and have all the accuracy I desire for the sighting system (the 250 has a Williams peep and the 204 is scoped for long range varmints). The 250 barrel came from the T/C Custom Shop and the 204 came from a local sporting goods store.
The bottom line is that from my experience you should have no problems.
That is very good info!
The only thing I've ever bought from EABCO was a custom shop 7mm magnum bull barrel with the rifle stock that goes with it. That's an off the shelf purchase and it came quick.
I will check out MGM for my next barrel.
Hey Bird Dog, Sorry I couldn't reply earlier. I'd be interested in your barrel+ scope, maybe. I must confess I don't know how to PM ya. I looked at your profile but no contact info was listed. Can you PM me, how do we do this? see ya, Bill
