Being a lefty, I looked at one of these, and then went to Mossberg, and they seem to have dropped the SS1 off of a cliff. Does anyone here have the real story?

About four years ago, a phone conversation with Mossberg, trying to get a part for a SSI rifle. the Mossberg person on the phone said the SSI was no longer in production and no parts for it available.
During this conversation with Mossberg, it was revealed that all machinery/equipment for SSI production and entire spare parts inventory sold to another company - But the Mossberg person refused to reveal who buyer was.......big secret at time, grounds for being fired if buyer was revealed.

I'm wondering if it were sold to Baikal in Rissia since they have so many things in common to the rifle being produced by the Russian company. It is an OK gun for someone with a low budget or not into aesthetics. Save some more loot and treat yourself to a Ruger Number One. It's the most accurate sporting weight rifle I've ever owned.
