How low would you go with price to take a risk on the Knight KP1?

I was looking at one tonight; stainless with black syn stock, .308 WIN, $420 new.

I love the feel of the rifle, but with them out of business, and if they re-surface no guarantee that the KP1 will still be in the catalog, I think I'll have to pass.

Contrary to popular belief, Knight isn't out of business, they just aren't making any firearms for now.

Knight still has their customer service dept open and they still have great customer service. Its a shame they aren't making rifles anymore because what they did make was very good. I have one of their BP Disc Elites in .45 that will out shoot most modern centerfire rifles.

I'm not sure how low the price would have to go, but my decision wouldn't be predicated on whether or not the gun was still being actively manufactured. I spent a couple hundred dollars (and more than a few hours) finishing an 03A3 over the last six months. A well-made rifle (like the KP1) is not likely to need any repairs for many years, and even then, it probably wouldn't be anything that a good gunsmith couldn't fix.

With that being said, I'd be more likely to buy the Apex, simply because the reviews on it are excellent and new barrels are likely forthcoming.
