Have been kicking around the idea of necking out a 300 RSAUM to accept a .375 bullet. Was wondering what some ideas are and any info will gratly be appreciated.

One and done...

Looks like he posted once and was never seen again. To answer his question, I advise using 375Ruger Basic brass. It's 2.67-something inches long and .530 inches in diameter at .200 inches above the head. It's readily available from multiple suppliers, costs $0.85 to $1.00 apiece (depending upon your source) and is annealed to about 3/4 of its length from the mouth. Walls at the mouth are .013 to .014 inches thick, and .019 to .020 inches thick about an inch or so down from the mouth. It's good brass. I have about 300 of 'em.

If he wants to use 300RUM brass, he can cut the case at the top of the body and have a nice cylinder to work with that is about 2.4 inches long. I'll be using this method for my next wildcat, a 7mm magnum being the same length as the 7 x 57 Mauser. Its neck will be .450 inches long to fully seat the very long 168-grain and 180-grain Berger VLD bullets, as well as any 7mm bullet out there.
