Jim,
I am having a heckuva time picturing what you just described. You took a case that is, by it's designation, 74mm long and fireformed it to a 45LC, which is normally only 32.64mm long? You more than doubled the length of the cartridge and you can still chamber/fire it, in your Contender?!
Do you trim the case, or something? Are you saying you created a long 45/70 case? That would make a little more sense...I've got to be misunderstanding this, somehow.
