I purchased a 1903 on gunbroker in caliber .300 Wade.mainly just wanted the action as it was listed as 300 magnum. Any one know anything about the .300 Wade?I have not heard of it before this and can find little or nothing about it. The rifle came with a set of old RCBS dies. I have some dies from around 1980 and this makes them look new.

It is a belted cartridge made to just clean up a 30-06 chambers. It is slightly shorter than a 308 Norma mag and should be very close to a 30-338.

It's description is listed in P.O. Ackley's book "Handbook for Shooters and Reloaders volume 1". It is favorable mentioned by Ackley who was a proponent of "efficient" cartridges.

I don't have any case dimensions to quote as a comparison. It sounds like a winner.

Did a cast of the chamber. Length from front of belt to end 2.336,belt length .103,neck .430 long. Belt dia .539,in front of belt .518,behind the shoulder .495,neck .343. Bore is a .308. Shoulder is sharper than a 300 Winchester magnum or a 7mm Remington magnum.
