I have always been impressed with my 7x30 Waters in my T/C Contender Super 14 and I have always been impressed with some of the 6.5MM bullets. Has anyone here done anything like necking down the 7x30 Waters to a 6.5? If so, was it worth the trouble? What were the pro's and con's?

Check out Ed Brown's 6.5 BRM. Neat little cartridge. Also, JD Jones makes the 6.5JDJ (I have one for the Contender) and it's a SWEET little round, although it is based on the semi-rimmed 225 Winchester parent brass.

Yup - had one in a T/C Contender carbine. It was a 6.5 Bullberry, which is the 30-30 case shortened and necked down to 6.5. Bullberry, in Hurricane, Ut. still make them.
