Yugo .22-6mm Build
Well, after a successful prairie dog hunt to NE New Mexico, but with a less-than-ideal cartridge for that sport (6.5X55 in a Howa action...love it with 120gr BTs, but that is another thread), I've decided to go ahead with a new build on a Yugo action and heavy 26" Montana Rifleman barrel blank in .224 w/1-in-9" twist, both of which I already have. At these speeds I could use anywhere from 60-77gr bullets...we'll see what the barrel will like .
If any of you are shooting this caliber I'd be interested in your opinions about dies, bullets, and other components as I pursue my quest for a flat-shooting 500 yard varminter . Also, any opinions on optics for such a rig would be apreciated.
