I was not implying anything about you, BC...I was stating that I expect a lot from my children and will not dumb down my guns for them. I have every confidence that my son, in particular, will be more than capable of safely loading for and shooting each of the wildcat cartridge firearms I own. The barrels are all stamped accordingly and my kids are bright enough to know not to put something in the chamber unless they're positive it's the right ammo.

If your children are not "into" reloading the way mine are, I can understand your decision to sell off a rifle or two.

I'm new to this site, but not to guns and reloading. I just put together a Mauser 98 7x57AI last winter. I spent all summer working up loads, and it will shoot anything up to 140g bullets, but heavier than that I cant get groups...even trying different bullet/powder/COL combinations. What I'm hunting whitetails with are 139g Hornady Interlock Sp's over 48g.H4895 inside a Norma case. Chrono's @ 3026fps. Tried several different brand of brass, but Norma works best...gotta get some more, but that stuff is pricey and havent had any luck finding and 1-2x's fire for sale.....I should mention that the barrel is an A&B 24" with a 1/9.5" twist

I recon their isn't a deer in the world that would apreciate being hit with a 140 grain bullet at 3000 fps! Sounds like a great gun. Sometimes recutting the leade will help with heavier bullet accuracy, but if your happy with what you got I'd leave it alone and enjoy the venison.

Thanks noyb72....I'm rather pleased with it...it's my first of hopefully many more builds! After deer season is done here in Pa, i'm gonna finish tweaking some 100g Hornady HP's been working on. Pretty close now at 3214 fps and 1 1/4" groups, just a matter of working the c.o.l. Going to be a good load for coyotes,I think

My 7mm Mauser will accurately shoot 140 or 168 HPBT's but not any 'in between' bullet weights. Maybe your A.I. is the same way.

Putting together a 7x57AI sporter (VZ24 straight handled action) with 21" A&B F14 barrel. No scope. Just a NECG single rear leaf (express) and a hooded front sight with gold bead. Looking for a single load in either 120 or 140 Sierra Pro-Hunter. Any advice?

I have been a fan of the 7x57 in both IMP and standard with a long throat, both get the same results btw..
I also began life with a Win 94 SRC in 25-35, shot nemourous deer and elk with it and never lost an animal..

Today my favorite gun is an original Brno mod. 21 in 7x57 that I purchased on the internet and it had a extra shot out 8x57 original barrel. The stock was broken in 4 or 5 pieces so I glued it all back together for a pattern stock, had the old 8x57 rebored to 9.3x62, rust blued it and stocked it in a peice of fancy Turkish walnut...then I built it into a switch barrel gun...Its now a beautiful slim trim 7x57 or 9.3x62..I switch barrels by taking it out of the wood and screwing in the barrels then tightening them with a hand wrench I built to do just that..It tight with a tap and with this set up its more accurate...

BTW with the talley peep, and talley mounted 3X Leupold it shoots to the same POI with both and with either barrel without any changes made in scope or peep zero...That is right up there with the second coming, it just should not be possibe but it is a fact...

Its one beautiful gun..slim trim and ready for any animal on earth, and comes in a single gun case..
