I've been owned by a number of dogs, many of them smarter than some humans I could mention. I knew a bloke in South Australia in the Flinders Ranges who could speak 25 languages and he gave his dog commands in Mandarin. Nobody else could work that dog. I had a great little Blue Heller called Pepper, and another one called Zack. Both good names and the dogs knew their names because they were simple. The names, not the dogs.

Bluey, is probably the most common name for men or dogs down-under.

LOML's best friend's husband just got a new "Aussie" male pup to go with his two 11-year-old dogs, Murphy and Digger. He runs cattle and the dogs have made it much easier for him and he wants the new dog to learn how and take the load off the older dogs.

But he needs a name to go with Murphy and Digger.

I suggested "Dog" after the character in "Footrot Flats" (which my Aussie brother-in-law introduced to my family) but he didn't go for it.

Any good Aussie dog names he could try?
How about Anzac
