Ballistics calculator

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

I have Bryan Litz's book and ballistics calculator on my desktop pc. Unfortunately I can't download it to my android smartphone because the android platform does not support "java".

Does anybody know of a good ballistics calculator that will work on an Android phone?

iPhone is my platform and I found one there…
(called ISnipe...version 4.1.4; language; en/en_US)
Don't understand the language part, am sure you do though…computers and me have a basic understanding…"they're smart, I'm just trying to catch up and figure out which keys not to hit!"

Shooter, By Sean Kennedy. All ballistic numbers are from Litz's work.

Lobohunter,

Since you have Litz's other material, why not buy his Android ballistics calculator? It's got his measured BC information in it.

$12.00 bux American, and it, (Strelok Pro), does all you need....when you can outshoot it,
you are going to need a COMPLETE Long Range Shooting re-education.....

Sorry to high jack this thread for a second but, I have Strelok and a chronograph but how can I figure out velocity at 69* when it is in the 80'same here now? Is there a formula that will help you calculate the velocity at different tempertures? I use H380 in the rifles im more concerned with and I know H380 is more temperture sensitive than some other powders. Or isn't the second velocity as important as long as you get the first one corect and I'm shooting more at the higher temperatures anyhow.

Thanks

Thanks Nick, I need to talk to him anyway. he sent me his two books, haven't had the time for them. Phil keeps telling me to talk to him since he knows about the .308 testing and I ought to try some of Litz's ammo.

I'd be curious to hear how well it shoots, too.

It varies with the powder and gun. This article has rough velocity change with temperature estimates for different powder types, but their measured examples don't match their estimates very closely. One of the reasons is that barrel temperature can affect velocity more than the powder's temperature sensitivity does, as board member Denton Bramwell explains.

If you are composing in Windows or on this board, hold down the Alt key while typing out 248, then release the Alt key. This will give you the ° sign for degrees.

I use Hornady's Ballistic calculator. It totally serves my needs, I do not have a smart phone.

The smart phone app is for use on the firing line so you can plug in the actual conditions as you find them, right then and there. If you are not calculating on the fly, then that Hornady calculator works. So do the more detailed ones at the JBM ballistics site.
