.25 Gibbs

OK, snow melted enough to get to the reloading shop. My notes on the wall for the .25 Gibbs are as follows:

for 117 grain Lowe bullets use 58 grains of 4831
56 grains of 4831 more accurate.

for 100 grain bullet, use 60 grains of 4831
or use 60 grains of H570

although in my Gibbs, med. weight adair bbl, 62 gr ains H570 and 100 grain
bullet was my most accurate load.

The 30 Gibbs is at my nephews house so if anyone wants my load data off a box of my reloads, let me know and I'll call him. Jack

A Gibbs cartridge is probably the maximum you can do with the -06 case. The 270 was Rocky Gibbs favorite, according to his book. He got from 3170 fps to 3287 fps with a 130 grain bullet in his rifle. His case was 2.5" long, with a .250" neck on a 35 degree shoulder.

Good luck!!
