Why does EVERYONE assume that as soon as a person puts on a badge, a priest's collar, or a politician's suit, that said person suddenly ceases to be the human being he/she was minutes before?!?! Hey Buck! Care to share who were you with in Bong Son? Curious is all ;0)

I don't want to go to the "all LEOs" comment, this speaks much
more to "POOR DESIGN", but the fact that this is happening to
uniformed, trained personnel is, IMO, germane to the issue.
It's not just us "stupid, untrained folk" who are picking up glocks,
and shooting away body parts with them.

Having the safety integral to the trigger pull is a "BAD IDEA", as
evidenced by the hundreds of people who have shot themselves,
on account of it, over the years.

Range Training?

Range Training? No over generalization intended. How bout those people who buy a G-17, their first handgun, and get their carry permit. Buy a holster online and commence to carry that handgun. These guys got training? How much range time? Target identification?

recent conversation with the owner of my LGS (Local Gun Shop) he was telling about a LEO convention, mostly Chiefs & admin, told me more than several instances of serious safety ignorance & potentially fatal behavior on live fire stages. i woulda got the ---- outta there. i can understand day in / day out complacency but that person needs to fend that off with focus & discipline

as far as Glock design, it seems the product functioned perfectly? he pulled the trigger and the gun fired

unfortunately several mistakes were made prior to the trigger squeeze, and it usually takes several to accomplish such a feat

You can blame the gun all you want.....BUT

DO NOT POINT THE MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU DO NOT WISH TO DESTROY.....

It is literally that simple.
