One of the Colt's from the same collection as the 38 Special Mid Ranges I post about in a different thread.

Barrel, bushing and underside of slide have all the correct markings as well as Bomar sites and grip stippling.

Base gun is a 1979 Colt Series 70. This is the smoothest shooting 1911 I have ever had the pleasure of spending range time with.

Gun is definitely a shooter!

Back as a late teen, I had a Series 70 from about 75/76. Didn't appreciate fine craftsmanship at the time and traded it for a 3 wheeler. I would beat my head against a wall, but I am not in my teens anymore and am afraid of a concussion.

Even without a concussion, your neck would bother you. Great to be young, too bad I was young and stupid.

Every time I see a post with, "I need to trade", "I need to sell", I think, "you'll be sorry".

Back in the late 60's I used to work a few doors down from Bob Chow's San Francisco gun shop. I would drop in on Bob and got to know him and his wife, Bobby quite well. Bob accurized my .45 ACP Colt Government model for bullseye shooting e.g. match barrel, fitted barrel bushing, trigger job, full Bo-mar slide rib with extended front sight, stippled front strap, fitted slide to frame, modified ejection port, etc. This pistol will never be sold, only handed down to my son who is also a shooter. Thank you for showing us pictures of your Chow Colt, It brings back memories of a great shooter, gunsmith and friend.
