Question Eig .22 Cal. Pistol

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

I have a pistol and I am looking for any information about it that I can find. It is a .22 cal. pistol with white grips that have EIG on them. It says MODEL EIG. E1 (the number one is backwards) on it. On the barrel it has: CAL 22 SHORT 167085 on the other side of the barrel it has GERMANY wrote on it.
Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I guess to depends on what you want to know!

These are the epitome of the "Saturday Night Special", a total POS. They were made in West Germany, and maybe still are. Importation was banned to the US by definitions within GCA '68. These have vritually nothing to recommend them farther that they are better than having no gun at all. When new they sold for usually under $12 or so.

The intent isn't to offend you, but there just isn't anything good to be said about the EIG, Rohm, RG, etc. guns that may be seen under these or any of several other names.

I've only seen one and that was almost 15 years ago and I wasn't impressed. I'd have it looked over by a competent gunsmith and checked for safe function.
