Good news

My life remains intertwined with both ex an present military members due to where I am and the job I recently retired from. Very good news today as I held a little boy, turning 2 very soon, whose Dad had been promoted and this means a new job for his new rank (E7)

He's served our nation as a crew chief in a very elite unit for a long time, on missions we read about in the papers or hear about on TV. He's a fine young man and I'm proud to have him as my friend and know that his family, my daughter's and ours are intertwined forever.

Congratulations to "J" and I'm happy your job will now lower a bit on the danger meter. I'm always impressed with young men such as he that drive on through very difficult situations to keep us safe. As a former military member who did a similar job, it's kind of funny to "talk" to him about it, without "talking" about it. He's a professional and I know better then to ask questions.

Anyway, a very good day today to know we have such fine young men still appreciated for what they do.

Being military news one may wish to post an observation. Fortunately there are good, real men out there who serve to save other nations from themselves. One hopes that internally the national effort is as patriotic against the enemy as well, for our safety sake. One day we can hopefully clad such men in the flag and show them off to the nation - because the real men amongst them will never cloak themselves with the star spangled banner in an effort to be recognised.
